Back from North Carolina

Cruz, Dakota, Donovan and Elliott ran in the 4x800 relay at the Junior Olympic in Greensboro, North Carolina. The team came in 9th.

Many other PB athletes qualified but were unable to attend. Cheyenne, Cruz and Dakota are now off to the AAU championships in Iowa (or Ohio?).

I tried to take a lot of photos and met with resistance from the entire team, including Coach Marsha! I was able to strong arm my own son, Elliott, but had less success prying the other boys from their game screens. So if you wonder why Elliott is overly represented, that's why.

The photo blog is open to all parents of Palmdale Bullets athletes. Write to me for the login information. I take as many photos as I can, but I am in no way, shape or form, the Palmale Bullets or PB website photographer. I am just one parent doing what I can to support the team.

I have a video of the race and will post that when Ken gets it out of post production. I'm all thumbs with videos.

Group Photos

After some trial and error I decided to go with Google's Picasa for our photo galleries.

Here are the pros and cons:

PROS:
With Picasa you don't have to start your own photo account
Creating new folders is easy
Organizing and tagging photos is way easy
You can geocode photos or albums
You can share photos or albums

CONS:
We all have to share the same username and password
I don't think you can upload video
There is no administration

IMPORTANT:
Since Picasa has no group function, if you want to upload photos you'll have to write to me: palmdalebullets@gmail.com , for the username and password.

When you write, tell me who you are (first and last name), your phone number, and to whom you are related on the team.

If you have questions about how to upload pictures, drop me a line. You may tag or comment on any photo (especially if the names, dates, places are incorrect).

Smotherman Photos at Gahr

I made a new lightbox of last weeks event at Gahr High School. There aren't many photos of Bullets, but there are some nice ones of Cheyenne and Dakota.

What's Next? Two Things

1. Our next meet is the 2009 SoCal Association Track and Field Championships, June 12-14, 2009. Click on the link to print out the schedule.

The meet will be at Cerritos College [map], 11110 East Alondra Blvd., Norwalk, CA 90650.

2. Practices in Palmdale have moved to Joe Walker Jr. Middle School track at 5632 W Ave L8 near George Lane Park. The track is on the south end of the school at 57th St West and W Ave L12.

Smotherman Track Photos

You have to feel kind of sorry for the fellow being overtaken by a Bullet!

Smotherman Images takes photos at most of the events. None of the hundreds of photos that they take are indexed, so it's quite a job to sort through each event looking for PB athletes.

I had some time to kill, so I went to the Smotherman site and made a lightbox for each event, and added all the photos I found with a Palmdale Bullet. You can't order from this account, but you can click on the picture you want, copy the URL of the image and order prints from your own account. A 4x6 is $3.00 and a 5x7 is $5.00.

The username is: palmdalebullets@gmail.com and the password is: palmdalerules

Go to Smotherman Images. The login link is on the left side - "member login". Log in. Then select the "My Lightbox" link on the left side. In the center use the dropdown menu - "Select a Lightbox" to select a date/event. Here are your choices:
